What do you do when you hear your stomach making that crunching sound at the oddest hour in the middle of the night? 

It’s past midnight, and you just realized that you are one hungry chimp. You hope to find food in your fridge but it is only good at shining that bright light on you without proving to be of any further use.  Craving for munchies in the middle of the night is common especially among the youth who more than often stay up late, either working or “chilling”.

Luckily, opportunistic entrepreneurs are not unaware of the fact. Late-night food delivery joints have been seen springing up across major metropolitan cities all over India since the last couple of years, as most local restaurants shut down even before it’s even midnight! So here is a list of five midnight food delivery services, across the country, that promise to come to your rescue.

Midnight Xprs

Spread across the interiors of Delhi along with its branches in Noida and Gurgaon, Midnight Express was born out of a software engineer’s endeavor to cater to the needs of students particularly living in and around the campus area. Based in Delhi, Karan Anand started the food joint as a small venture that offered hot stuffed parathas to students mainly at a time when it was a task to venture out alone, more so for women.
He later expanded the menu and began offering both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines as a part of its different meal categories that includes starters, main course, Chinese food, Diet food and combo meals.

MUMBAI

Fly By Knight

A creative venture started as an initiative of a Mumbai-based ex-Google employee Neha Jain. She founded it during the year 2012. It had a special delivery system where the delivery guy clad in a Batman outfit came knocking at your door with all that you needed, just when you needed it. It might sound somewhat dramatic, and it definitely is. Unfortunately, they later got rid of the cool uniform and started delivering dressed ordinarily.
They offer food and beverages along with dessert for the sweet cravings. Food offered is both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and mainly includes Pav Bhaji, Biryani, Noodles and Maggi. Chocolate brownie for dessert and beverages including soft drinks and packaged water are also offered for delivery.

Mad Bites

Founded in 2012, MadBites was an effort made by a young night owl himself, Avik Chatterjee, who along with his two other partners, is planning to expand and carry his venture forward by launching it in other metros in the country. Piping hot meals being delivered to your house all night with a long list of delicacies including pizzas, burgers and sandwiches, salads, pastas, Chinese and biryani with curry. All these coupled with an equally long list of desserts which include chocolate mousse, brownies, ice-cream and more, are a convenient option that allows one to choose from a wide variety of food items and desserts.

BANGALORE

Midnight Hunger Solutions.

A 24×7 food delivery outlet situated in Indirapuram, Bangalore is run by an events manager named Vaibhav Ali who saw the needs of night junkies and thus came up with the concept of food delivery round the clock for his food joint.
Cuisines and snacks offered include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals, but the food joint is mostly famous for its non-vegetarian delicacies like biryani and curry, kebabs, mutton and bheja fry. While the vegetarian section only offers a small variety of meals that mainly include aloo, gobi and paneer.
