Chidambaram’s New Madras Hotel

A place with a history, Chidambaram’s New Madras Hotel was opened in 1930 for British officers who were from South India. It is a dingy place with not much space around to move but once your food is on the table you forget everything else. The service is very personal and warm, with waiters actually suggesting what dish to order.

Best on Menu: Chidambaram’s Special Thali, 3 in 1 Idli, Butter Milk (one of the best in Delhi)

Naivedyam

1, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi

 Situated in one of the most popular spot for food-lovers in Delhi, Hauz khas, Naivedyam is very popular with south campus students. One of the oldest restaurant in Noida, Lakshmi Coffee house is situated in the ever-crowded Brahamaputra Market which popular for its Biriyani’s and rolls. You reach this restaurant after going through series of dirty and crowded hallways. There is minimal decor but food is to-die-for. The service is very quick and friendly.

 Carnatic Cafe

Carnatic Cafe is situated in NFC, which houses some of the most famous bar and restros in Delhi like Yum Yum Tree, Pebble street and many more. The place gives you a sense of simplicity right from the decor to food. the waiters are dressed in white kurtas and blue denim ready to help you every time you look up from the table. Staying true to it’s name, the cafe has this typical Carnatic feel about it.

Malabar Hotel

1305, Opposite Medanta Medicity, Sector 39, Gurgaon

To start with it is only place in Delhi where you get decent Kerelite cuisine. It is a heaven for beef and seafood lovers  with wide range of beef and fish dishes from biriyani to chili fry. The place is bit dingy and crammed  with two rows of table with a cashier counter in the front. The service very slow but yes, it is great for non-veg and Kerela food food lovers.

Best on Menu: Beef Biryani, Beef Chili Fry, Fish Manchurian
