Quick Diet Cheats to Help You Get a Body Like Daniel Craig’s in Spectre

The newest James Bond flick, Spectre, comes out in India this Friday, 20th of November. And needless to say, there isn’t enough hype that can be created around it. From Bond’s wrist-watch to his automobile to the two new Bond girls (Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux) – we cannot stop gushing about it all. However, one of the most talked about things about the movie, yet again, is Daniel Craig’s ripped body. Daniel Craig Body

We’ve put together a list of diet hacks you can easily accommodate into your regime to up your Bond quotient. Here goes:

1. High-Protein Diet:

When asked about the diet he followed to get that Bond body, Daniel Craig had just one thing to say,  “I was on a high protein diet.” Meets eggs and meat -your new best friends. It’s important to follow a high-protein diet to build muscle. The average intake should be your body weight in pounds x 16 = daily calorie intake.Protein rich breakfast

Additionally, your diet should have 0.8 gram of protein per pound of the body-weight, 20% of the calories should come  from fat and the rest of it from carbs.

2. Kick-start that metabolism:

It is important to not skip any meals. This tip is especially important if you’re on the heavier side. It is important to get rid of all the extra body weight and fat before you start working on your muscle. Get the metabolism working by having frequent, light meals at regular intervals.high-protein-diet

A heavy breakfast (the most and the only heavy meal of the day) should be followed by an afternoon, pre-lunch snack. This in turn should be followed by lunch, evening snack, dinner. A glass of low fat milk is a good option if you feel hungry at night before going to bed. Breakfast can include eggs, bacon, fruits, fresh juice and puffed rice. Snacking should be kept clean and minimum with things like fruits, idlis or puffed rice. Dinner should be low on fat and moderate in calories.

3. Chug, chug, chug!

Before you jump to any conclusions -we’re talking of water. Believe it or not -water truly is the saviour when looking to start a new regime or maintain an old one. Drink a glass of water every hour. Find it hard to remember? There are all sorts of apps now that would remind you to drink water depending on your requirements. It will keep you hydrated, rejuvenated and fresh to sweat it out. Adequate amount of water in your diet prevents cramps and relaxes muscle tension.

Also, drinking water immediately after a meal should be avoided. This is when the digestive juices are at work and dissolving them with water can lead to unnecessary bloating. Keep a gap of minimum of twenty minutes between a meal and drinking water.

As far as alcohol goes, yes, you can have that Martini a la James Bond, but keep it in check. The safest bet is an average of six regular sized drinks in a week.

4. Hit that Gym:

No pain, no gain -corny but true. There is absolutely no way you’re replicating Bond’s chiseled abs on your body if you’re still on that couch writing in your journal, watching the paint peel off or just reading about Craig’s body in Spectre.Daniel Craig Body

Sweat it at the nearest gym, join a kickboxing class, show some moves at Zumba, go out for a run, enroll in Salsa classes with a friend -do any of this (or all of this!), or anything else that catches your fancy, but make sure to get that body moving around. It is important to pay equal attention to flexibility, strength and core, and stamina. Each body has different strengths and weakness -listen to your body, understand where you are lacking and work on it. If you’re a beginner, starting off with a work-out between 40 minutes to an hours is a good idea.

We’re only just warming up. Did you think that was the end of it? If you’re aiming for the stars of the fitness-sky, your workout regime should ideally be a 5-day week. It should be a balanced time-table of weights, strength exercises like squats, lunges, push-ups and pull-ups, and cardio. You will also take care of your core and stamina while at it. Keep the weekend free for the body to rest.

Remember, at the end of the day, it’s not so much about beauty but about being fit. But if a certain aesthetic value comes with that fitness, we are not complaining. It is also important to not over-do the diet or the exercise. Even though Craig may look like a million bucks on-screen, he pretty much has that one job, which, by the way, also comes with fancy protein supplements and six-figure-salaried private trainers.

This however is no excuse for the couch-potato in you to be embraced as a lifestyle choice. It is indeed time to bring them out those trainers to hit the dirt and see where it goes from there.
